Gatwick Airport Southern Rail disruption: what to check

The [SussexWorld report](https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMiyAFBVV95cUxPQWtxMUlXM3pPNTZFZnd3X0xucEItY3Y3TTFXRXpUQURFZXpReldic1M0LW5xWVU2NnhyUWZCM3lJMlVsMTlaVjk4UmhaY0owS3REMVdybGM1VGQydi14Q2QyVW53ek1YamhEQklWaDJpd3dRbVlDZGxHVUozS3J6ZXFGVE5HVTUxaUVBaVlVNDRTbU9rNmVxOUgwbVBoWFpPTi1DNjZtU3JiUmtvZXI0ZDFpV3IyZm5WRDRlX1hLSUNFejBGcXBGNw?oc=5) links disruption affecting Southern Rail services to Gatwick Airport with a signalling fault. That is the extent of the incident detail available in the supplied headline.

The headline does not identify affected services, the scale of delays or when normal service will resume. It should not be treated as a live service update or evidence that every Southern train to Gatwick is affected.

Check Southern’s current service information and live departures for your departure station, planned train and any connections. Look for notices relevant to your route rather than relying on the headline alone. Recheck shortly before setting off and allow extra journey time; the supplied information does not support a specific allowance in minutes.

Work backwards from your airline’s check-in and bag-drop deadlines when reviewing your train plans. See our guide to [planning your Gatwick arrival time](/guides/how-early-to-arrive-at-gatwick) and [check your departure terminal](/guides/which-gatwick-terminal-departure-return) before travelling.
