Heathrow Piccadilly line closure: what to check before setting off

The supplied London Now headline flags a closure but does not specify dates, affected stations or replacement arrangements. It is therefore not enough to confirm disruption on your travel day, identify an affected section or recommend a particular alternative route.

Consult current Transport for London service information and plan the journey using your departure station, Heathrow terminal and intended arrival time. Look for any closure notice that matches your date and route, then recheck before leaving. Work backwards from your airline’s check-in and bag-drop deadlines; our [Heathrow departure planning guide](/guides/heathrow-departure-arrival-check-in-security-guide) can help you organise those checks.

Run a separate check for your return date and the time you expect to leave Heathrow, rather than using your flight’s landing time alone. Confirm your arrival terminal too. Our guide to [different departure and return terminals at Heathrow](/guides/heathrow-different-departure-arrival-terminals) covers that part of your planning. Do not assume the same service arrangements will apply in both directions.

If current service information shows your route is affected, compare alternatives for your actual travel time. Check operating hours, interchanges, accessibility if needed and the full journey cost. Do not assume replacement transport is provided: the supplied headline gives no details of replacement arrangements.
